But after that first reading, I thought this book should be made mandatory reading in school. Perhaps if it had been, we'd have a much stronger environmental movement than we do now. These days, I keep waiting for the rusted lewisite cannisters to rise from the depths of the ocean. With so much political (not to mention religious) impetus behind the absurd denial of climate change today, we are all those sheep who will soon look up--and not be fed.
